Estate Planning

Legacy and Estate Planning | Managed Legacy Wealth Counsel

Estate planning is legal work, but carrying out an estate plan often depends on financial details such as account ownership, beneficiary designations, trust funding, insurance, liquidity, and the investments expected to support the plan.

My legal background helps me recognize where those financial and legal pieces may intersect. I do not serve as the client’s estate-planning attorney through the advisory relationship. I help organize the financial information, identify questions for legal counsel, and complete appropriate financial implementation after legal direction is received.

What We Can Do For You

  • Prepare for Legal Planning: Organize your financial information, priorities, family circumstances, and questions before you meet with your estate attorney.

  • Review Account Ownership: Identify accounts, properties, or other assets whose ownership may need to be discussed with legal counsel.

  • Review Beneficiary Arrangements: Compare beneficiary and contingent-beneficiary designations across retirement accounts, insurance, and other financial assets.

  • Coordinate Trust-Related Financial Work: Identify accounts or assets that may require attention after a trust is created or amended, then carry out approved financial changes within my role.

  • Consider Liquidity and Tax Questions: Evaluate whether the financial plan provides adequate flexibility for expenses, debts, taxes, family needs, or other obligations, while coordinating with legal and tax professionals.

  • Prepare Family Decision-Makers: Discuss the financial roles that children, executors, trustees, agents, or other family members may eventually be expected to perform.

  • Follow Through After Documents Are Signed: Help connect the attorney’s work with account titling, beneficiary changes, investment decisions, insurance, and other financial actions needed to support the intended plan.

Schedule a conversation to discuss whether your estate documents and financial arrangements appear to be working from the same plan.
